EMPLOYEES!!!!!!

Post by CanuckHoss »

Fuck me...employee issues again...wtf is the matter with people??

My biggest issue for 12 years in business has been dealing with employees..not about making the business a go.

Entitlement??...the tail trying to wag the dog??

Fuck that...should be an interesting meeting this morning!!

Had to vent and most business owners will concur with me I am sure...

Good luck Barry!

I always thought owning my own business would be most rewarding; that is until it would become necessary to hire the first employee.

Spending many years in management, the hardest thing was finding people (employees) that had a good work ethic. When you find that person, hang on. Few had a clue when it came to being productive, being mindful of budgets, respectful of company assets and so on.

So many think their job is watching videos and spending time on facebook.

Just my opinion.....
Regards,

Mark

Good luck Barry!

The worst part of all was they didn't even see their own interests in looking after their employer. Their wages were a God-given right!

Grrrr! so glad I work for myself now and no need for employees, freelancers know which side their bread's buttered!

Try managing a business with 100 employees including 6 office personal , 2 draftsman , 6 supervisors and about 80 machinest's and tool makers that belong to a union . You talk about headaches . Great money but I don't miss being a manager in the least .

ummm..no thanks...having 8 working for me is enough...

I have a Business Manager and my son Josh is General Manager that I have running the business as the last 9 months were a shit show in my personal life with Gwens health. Still, like today, the odd time I need to grab the "president's" hat and kick some attitude's ass...Employees seem to pay more attention to the "big Kahuna" and the funny thing is customers do too...the shit that customer's try...yes try to pull on Josh or Connull...don't even go there with me...kind of funny actually to watch.

The meeting went actually pretty good. I will find out in a few weeks if the smoke was blown up my ass or they were seriously listening....I think they were listening.

As some may or may not know, I own and drive my own
drumptruck. I have had 3 so far, one used my first and 2
brand new one at around 100 K each. When the I got the
first new one I thought about keeping my first and hiring
a driver to drive it. BUT than I came up with a little saying
I like to use when ever anyone asks if I have more than one truck, I say,"Trucks are like women, ever man only
need one cause if you got more than one you got trouble".

So far it looks very positive for the results of our meetings. I believe they have a different perspective of what we are trying to accomplish as a business and respect our decisions more...and are respecting their fellow worker more. We definitely had to tell them where the bear shit in the bushes so to speak...
