Another Project Done Today

Post by Carl La Fong »

Tom Urn 2.JPG
As a few of you might know, we lost our son, Tom, in 2002. I kept a small vial of his ashes, planning to make a nice, permanent container for them. The time never seemed right, or I was too preoccupied with other stuff. I finally got busy and made this the other day. It is South American Macacauba. He was an avid skater, so I made a little board to go on top. It's maple burl with walnut wheels. I had it laser engraved at a local trophy shop. I'm pretty happy with it

Very Nicely done!

It is claimed that there is no greater heartbreak than a parent losing their child. I pray daily that I never find myself in that situation. My heart goes out to those of you that have.
Who says building a border wall won't work?!? The Chinese built one over 2000 years ago and they STILL don't have any Mexicans ...

What everyone said about loosing a child, can really only be known what that might be like, if that occurs to a parent. My Dad had that experience when we lost my Brother a few years before my Dad passed on. It looked to me like a burden that very few parents carry. If nothing else, I was witness to a Father's pain greater than my own when I lost my Brother. "nuff said" because the understanding is clear enough.

I too find that your Monument that you built with your own hands John, speaks a greater voice than anything you could ever utter in your life. It seems your clearest voice is when you put your hands to work! Thank you John for sharing that 'voice' with us! Jeepers, you are one skilled human!
