I came across some things on the web concerning the popular things we did/had on our cars during the 70's. Some of the things I had on mine:
- 8 track (of course)
- obligatory fat rear tires/skinny fronts, the more discrepency the better
- shackles on rear springs to lift the rear
- cherry bombs
- ladder bars
- prism tape in various places on the dash to look cool
- shag carpet in one, you were never able to vacuum all the dirt out
- chrome foot pedal covers
- T handle Hurst shifter
WOW, brings back memories, some not so fond
How about you?

...yes 8 track under dash mounting and
-wide oval 70's
-cheater slicks
-dual exhaust w/ Thrush mufflers
-trim rings and baby moons
-front rear speaker switch with reverb
-custom steering wheel
-STP and Moon Eyes decal
...then when the gas crisis hit in '73...no more muscle cars! But a new trend came...the van I installed shag carpet, wood paneling, bed & beads, mag wheels, sun roof, and port hole windows...I could never afford the murals! It was fun times for sure!

On a couple of my cars back in the day I extended the floor shifter to about shoulder height with a big skull or dice knob on it . When you were next to another vehicle at a light they could see you shifter . Oh well , some of us thought it was cool .
