Although the program was another government boondoggle, I don't think it had any dire effects on the economy or any of the people or businesses mentioned. 750,000 cars went to the crusher. Many were nice cars, but the majority were cars that nobody really cared about of ever will care about. Cars from the 80s and beyond will be unrestorable once they are 20 or 30 years old due to the unavailability of chips, boxes and other electronics that will deteriorate. These were not Chevelles or Roadrunners. They were, mostly, crapboxes

I think this segment is slanted to have an opinion in one direction which is easy to do without the other side. Most people would jump on the conclusion that this was a government boondoggle…I think it needs more fair sided view. Do I agree or disagree, NOT enough understanding.
