Olympics -Sad loss today

It is really hard to watch the video of the young lad from Georgia dying on his luge run today.

Is it just me or does the part where he died reek of a real unsafe place to be luging?? 1 foot square steel poles with a low wall just waiting for someone to come off course.

Yes, it's a terrible fate to die when you are doing what you love the best. Death by no means is welcome - however maybe that's the best time for us to go, when we are doing what we love to do.

It's a difficult thing to watch. Which leaves me with the haunting thoughts that wonder if God is harvesting such a soul for unknown reasons, or we are left to endure all of our actions by the physics and science of life and death.

My prayers to out to his fellow and his loved ones. Hope that helps a little.

You are at -13 and we are at +1 or so.

Gwen and I were at Starbucks yesterday and a father and son pulled up on crotch rockets for coffee...pretty brave souls as the ground is quite cold/wet yet and ice could be anywhere.

Thanks Barry, Happy Family day for you as well... it seems as though we've rocketed up to the sizzling temperature of - 6 today. Not bad for this neck of the woods.

I realize that our Canadian riding time is precious, almost to the point where we'll 'taunt fate' with the underlying ice on the roads. I don't view this as an act of idiocy... but one of chancing the magic we seek all winter long. You cats in Calgary, often get a reprieve with your Chinooks and such.


Yak at you soon. I'm going to need brake pads, both front and rear soon.... I'll keep you posted when I fire up my wish list....
