Ron & Deb in Colorado & Wyoming

Post by addicted08 »

Ron and I are off on an other adventure. We drove to Loveland, CO and unloaded my trike. Just out side of Loveland we saw this really cool piece of art.
Image

Then a little further along highway 34 going towards Estes Park, Ron spotted some "friends" and so we stopped to take pics.

We got pretty wet driving thru Rocky Mountain National Park. It was really cold rain and even sleet! Not my favorite part of the trip. But we did see some neat scenery.
Image
But the rain wreaks havoc with my picture taking! This is a moose with huge antlers!
Image

And this is Ron making more friends...this time with the wildlife.

We stopped at a neat little bar in Saratoga, WY for a drink and this was above the bar.

Hey we are finally at a place where there is internet! Ron and I saw some amazing sights as we drove thru Wyoming up to Yellowstone. Damn that state is windy!!!

Yellowstone was awesome! Everyone should put it on their list of places to ride.
The first place we stopped was near the lake and there was a hot spring basin that was really cool.

I couldn't belive how blue the water was in the pools.

While we were walking around the hot spring pools we saw hoof prints. I sure didn't think wildlife would be around the hot water but then we saw this:

Everywhere we went we caused quite a stir. I think there were as many pics take
of my trike as there were the sights. Here is a group of kids that ran over to look at the trike while we were off on a hike to see the sights. When we came back they were all around the trike.

As usual the trike draws a crowd. Everytime we stopped to see something there would be a crowd around it when we came back.

I got a pic of Ron on the trike at Yellowstone.

We saw an eagle flying over a field hunting.

Yesterday we had a special treat as Wildman and Pammy came
down to Denver and gave us a great tour of Denver and some
of it's sights. We went by the new Denver Boss Hoss shop and
met the owners while they were holding a little street party open
house. Even got to see one of the locals do a piss poor excuse
for a stationary burnout in front of the crowd. Man did I wish
I had my chopper to show them some real smoke.

We even met another Boss Hoss owner from Denver and
encouraged him to visit our site.

Now off into the mountains again.

Wildman "installs" the Wildmans' Wild Weekend button on Deb yesterday in Denver, Colorado. A lady that walked by took the pic and was a little late on the action but I can assure you Wildman knows how to get a big handful in the installation process!! Haha, fun for me anyway.
Wildman I can see I need to spend some time with you and try to teach
you how you "grab a big handful". Just take a look at my signature
photo and you will see a medium handful. I will try to find a proper photo
for the Big Handful.

Five Rednecks have received their 2010 WWW buttons so far. Shane come and get yours. WM
I have a pretty extensive Wildman Button collection. I know I have missed one for the Rally after the Rally last year when I broke my tranny case but not sure of any others missing. Seems I have already earned the Wildman's Wild Weekend one, too bad you don't remember the event
I bet you don't forget about giving Deb any buttons :D

This was taken in Mammoth, WY in Yellowstone. The elk were just lounging around in the church yard. One of the gals who work there said that the elk have learned that if they hang around the people the bears and mountain lions leave them alone.

These 2 pics were taken at Mammoth Springs in Yellowstone.

This is Old Faithful as it is winding down. I have video that I will try to upload and then make a link to it. For now, just a still pic.

Shane you been drinking some of those double Jack and Cokes
old Geezer likes? Hop on the bike and ride up to Des Moines
tonight and we can visit my favorite watering holes. Or at
least get up here next weekend for Hawgstock the Conesville
condo awaits you. Also I might just have a certain single
female I want you to meet.

Ron, just reading that was almost enough motivation to get me to ride to Des Moines. I think I will wait and see how next weekend looks though. I washed both my bikes this morning and put them back in the garage. I could try to ride tonight and come home in the dark covered with bugs and dodging deer or if I can get out of bed at a decent time ride tomorrow morning depending on possibility of rain. No matter what I will have to ride a somewhat clean bike down 1 1/2 miles of gravel :(
