Carb rebuild, update

So enough is enough.Having cleaned and rebuilt the carb and still not happy, it’s time to change. Bill has recommended quickfuel HR 650 and happy to go with that. After reading the information seems that would still need tweaking. So my question is, what exactly did people change their 1901 for. When fitting the QF does it need an adaptor plate and any other bits such as linkage. My engine as far as I know is a stock cast iron crate engine 1996. Thanks
