Minor Boss Hoss Radiator Mount Modification

Post by The Mindless Philosopher »

One of the handiest (extremely minor) modifications I've made to my '01 Boss Hoss is cold-welding the bolt that attaches the top radiator clamp. The bolt is installed upside-down through a flat bar that runs between the frame tubes below the neck. The nylon locking nut can easily be removed or re-installed from above. The same can be accomplished by using an additional nut instead of cold-welding the bolt, depending upon how tall or short the radiator might be in relation to the clamp/bracket. I bought a long, swivel-head, ratcheting box-end wrench to make life easier when removing the radiator. Nothing earth-shattering, of course, just one of those tiny, easily overlooked details that makes life a tad easier when maneuvering in those tight, hard-to-reach places.
