I'll need to change my rear tyre soon and need to tool-up in readiness.
I can only find a Krikit 09002 on Ebay.com which stops at about 330 lbs.
The book [page 69] says we need 400 to 500 ft lbs so where do you guys get this tool from...?

Re: Drive belt tension.
I quit doing burnouts a couple of years ago but I still like quick acceleration, I've been running about 350 ft lbs of tension on my belt with no slippage . Unless your running a BB I don't think 500 ft lbs is necessary and it's alot easier on your transmission output shaft bearing.
Re: Drive belt tension.
Hi Steve,
I run 300-325 and am pulling 415hp and never jumped a cog so the basic kriket is fine and 300 is easier on the output shaft.

Re: Drive belt tension.
Thanks Jack & Zep, it's a SB 385 HP and not done any burn-outs, saving that for when I dump the old tyre.
I'll get the Krikit II 91132 and set it at 300 lbs when the time comes.
Often wondered if this belt was set too tight as it's a real pig to move in the workshop without the motor running.

Re: Drive belt tension.
My suspicions have been realised - Krikit arrived this morning and now checked the tension...
The thing clicks but the green indicator doesn't move so the belt is in excess of 320 Lbs.
Have a feeling it's around the 400 mark so that's another job on the list.
Does it make any difference doing this check on the side stand - or does the back wheel need to be off the ground?

Re: Drive belt tension.
Thanks for the link Gerry, assume the KIII's are for a 3" belt or those needing the extra Lbs.
I only have the 2" belt and will readjust down to 300 lbs so my KII should be okay...
