Please help me find this part! Finders Fee!!

Post by Jack »

Hi All,

I'm in a bind...

What I have on the bike is a full set of Excel Components switches and hand controls.

Excel no longer makes (I assume) the left hand master cylinder assembly. I have to assume this because I can't find a number to contact them, they are not responsive to emails, and they don't have it on their site.

When I crashed the bike, I broke the lever off of the master, and took a chunk of the master with it. Because of the importance of this piece, I choose not to "fix" it... I don't want to not have a clutch when I need it most.

After a LOT of searching, I found what I needed @Fog Hollow.

I called him, he called his supplier, they don't stock it anymore. Calls to RevZilla (self proclaimed #1 Excel distributor) lead to nothing.

I've attached pics... if you or someone you know may have one, or if you know where I may be able to buy one... or if you just have a great idea to share, I'm all ears. If, by the grace of God, you're able to locate one of these for me, I'll send you some money to make it worth your time.

Having said all of that, if you think I can swap this out with a more common component, I'd be interested there as well. As I see it, I'd have to change out both controls and both sets of switches to make it right.

Thanks in advance guys... this is wearing me out.

Frustrating for sure!

Maybe change it out to a Joker unit?

Ended up going this route. Will know this week if it’s gonna work or not. (eBay link won’t post. )

It pretty much fits. It isn’t made to fit like the other setup, but it works. I’m gonna clean out the gas tank as much as I can, fix the foot peg and kickstand enough to ride it, and then off to the dyno to troubleshoot the ignition.

The handlebars are from KromeWorks (or something like that) and we’re a perfect match to what I had, except the new ones are knurled and not dimpled.
