Jason's second demo on the trike. First one was just 5 minutes around town. Come back and check for oil leaks etc. Then go again. I think he likes the power!!

Norm...

We have had a really warm week and lost a lot of snow..most days this week was 50 to 55+ F which is really nice.

Super quick response it seems. Looks like I won't get to demo until after I get back from Daytona.

Triker,

The Holley carb I intially had went better than the Edelbrock that was on for the last 2 years. The Edelbrock linkage was screwed up we found out when we were in take down mode in November. The tranny cable was letting the throttle open maybe 1/2 so it is not a true test of the carbs as both were ridiculously rich and the Edlebrock had the cable issue.

Just watching Jason I can honestly say it would NOT have done that in the 3 years I have had it...so I am SUPER FUCKING anxious now to ride and feel the difference.

Thank you...

I wish my back were 100%...that burnout right there would be shits and giggles fun but with my back when it violently hooks up and comes back to centre I would not be in good shape. Would love to do it.

More than likely there will be some awesome launches from lights...wink wink nudge nudge...as I get used to the power and use it all to the point of spinning a bit.

I could never have accelerated like that in the last 3 years with the carbs...a different beast is hitting the roads here.

A little fine tuning maybe after a couple hundred miles of it learning but so far it seems 100%

The guys really liked working with the Holley Sniper..very very easy to tune.

It was pretty cool this morning what one of my parts guys at the shop said.

He is very much into the high power Import cars and sports bikes. Has driven my trike before...a few times.....not overly impressed with it.

Yesterday I was not there and he took my trike for a spin after the body was installed. My techs told me today about the demo and said I should ask him what he thought of it.

I asked him and he said my trike has NEVER been like that..ever. He said that now if I were to leave the parking lot like I used to I would spin for a long long ways. He also said that he thought I could give him a good run for his money against his sports bike.. He was overall very very impressed with the performance.

NOW I am anxious as hell to take the beast for a ride...

Time to show his sport bike how a real bike gets down!
Or, at the very least, give him 2 big stripes to follow ;)

SOAB!!! Have you tried tapping on the pan?? - too soon? :  Seriously though, that blows big time. Are you going to have your engine rebuilder listen to it first or have your guys diagnose?

Hi Barry,

Gotta admit you made an April's fool outta me too! I've been reading a lot of your posts trying to learn everything possible about the big block bikes and got really excited about your FI project! Glad to be an April's fool knowing your FI system works and kicks ass!

May I ask how much did it cost you in total, not counting the labor costs? And has it reduced the fuel consumption?

Sorry to you also...I just had to.

This is the kit we bought

http://www.jegs.com/i/Holley/510/550-511K/10002/-1

BUT we also bought a $500 intake that was 2 inches lower to try make the Fi fit. Even with that we had to turn the orientation of the Fi 1/4 turn or 90 degrees which put all the cables at the front of the FI rather than on the left side as normal. We had to build an adapter plate out of 1/4 inch aluminum for the FI to mount 1/4 turn off. We did this because we did NOT want to modify the frame at all for fitment. Another system may have fit without a new intake but my Tech did a lot of research and after talking directly with Holley made the choice for me that the Sniper was the cats ass so to speak.

I only have about 5 miles on the trike and all intown from the shop to home. Our weather is not settling out here this spring so I can go for a decent 100 mile jaunt and see what the fuel mileage is. I was getting a good 19 or maybe 20 miles per gallon Canadian before with my 11% oversized rubber. I am anxious to see the difference also...we are guessing it chould improve somewhat...maybe...a little. If not I am ok as I have enough fuel for 160 miles total.

I started the trike the other day, warmed it then shut it off on my driveway. My neighbor across the street called me over for an unrelated bike question and then asked what I did to the trike because it sounded different and he also said why did it start so easily...interesting he noticed.

I am anxious to get some 100's of miles on it. So far I notice a huge difference even though I have not even spun the tires once yet but it feels like a new beast!

Into the motor with Fi and roller rockers and new Intake and gaskets and new oil pump etc etc I put over $6,000 USD into just the motor. Expensive but it is my BABY.

Funny thing is it all started with my son Josh bugging me to fix the few head leaks...said it did not look good for Boss Hoss...it snowballed bigtime from there...LOL and we are slower during the winter so my labour costs are just filling the guys time in the shop.

My guys have over 100 hours into the trike. We went through everything on it. AND I can truly say it is BETTER THAN NEW!!!!

Because we removed the pistons and had the motor down to the crank we had to modify the cross member on the frame to remove the oil pan too.
