V8's in the Smokies 2019

Post by Greg S »

Hello All,

Here is information for V-8's in the Smokies, 2019.

* Wednesday afternoon May 8th thru Sunday morning May 12th
* Ramada Inn South / 4010 Parkway / Pigeon Forge, TN 37863
* Call 800-523-3919 and give the dates that you are interested in, and ask for the "V8 Bike Riders" discount rate.

At the moment, there is a block of 10 rooms reserved for this event. They will be held for us until April 1st. After that date, they will be dropped back into inventory. When you call, you will be asked to pay for the first night's stay ($77 + tax for Wed through Saturday night). The balance is due upon arrival. If for some reason, you need to cancel, you may do so up to 48 hours prior to the planned arrival date. We asked for as many first floor rooms as possible. Most rooms have two queen sized beds.

There is lots of room to park your tow vehicle and trailer, as there is a convention center parking lot on the premises.

If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 330 dash 606 dash 3165.

Hopefully the weather will be as nice as in the previous years!

Some of the places that Marilyn and I enjoy riding to: Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Gatlinburg, Deals Gap, Blue Ridge Parkway, Route 441 through the mountains, Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum in Maggie Valley, Ole Smoky Moonshine distillery in Gatlinburg, Iron Mountain Metalcraft in Pigeon Forge, Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop in Townsend, Great Smokies Flea Market in Kodak, and the Tail of the Dragon.

Elvis has found some pretty cool places to visit, and Ron had a suggestion for a fun road to travel on.

Fourteen people made the trip. It turned out to be a great week.

The weather held out pretty well. Marilyn and I rode everywhere that we wanted to, and only were in the rain for one 30 second stretch when coming through the mountains, and one 5 minute stretch when driving locally.

As usual, several new roads were explored. The attached picture shows one of the roads, where the handlebars were always driving left of center.

This is one of the places that we like to visit every year. The owner gets up every morning around 3 or so, and starts to prepare the pork for the next day.

Pictures cannot truly reproduce how magnificent the mountains really are.
