This is what I know this morning.....
Delta flight to Stuttgart Germany leave at 2:05 pm June 17 arrive on Thursday morning 8:45am.
Peter and Sabine will pick us up and "entertain" us at their home until we leave for Pullman City on Sunday.
Sunday to Sunday - enjoy the Pullman City Festivities, we have a place on property to rent.
Sunday go back with Peter and Sabine to their home and fly out Monday morning back to Daytona Beach.

What we haven't figured out yet is our transportation but we have several options but just haven't settled on one yet.
1- Peter offered to let us ride his Goldwing
2- Rent a Harley
3- buy a big block ship it and try to sell it (running out of time for this option)
4- rent a sports car

We are leaning towards renting a sports car- Bill really wants to drive the autobahn, we can see the countryside, be the "runner" for break downs and errands, etc.

I am excited and have all sorts of questions as we have never traveled abroad. What Clothes to pack, do we need helmets (if we ride) what can't we pack (cigars), etc.

Can't wait to meet the rest of the V8 Family and have some "Jacky" as Guido says.

You sure are in good hands when you stick with Peter and Biene!

Weather can be tricky in the Harz (that's where the rally takes place). You can get wet on the road.

If you are riding a motorcycle, there is NO way around a helmet. All over Europe you have to wear helmets to ride motorcycles.

There are some limitations about bringing tobacco into Germany, but you best look it up in the internet. There are pages about custom limits.

:thanks: Martin - and yes I have to agree that Bill and I will be in very good hands!! Thank goodness for FaceBook instant messenger - Sabine and I have been in communication every day (no charge $$). Great way to keep in touch with our international folks.

Any and all comments/suggestions/do's and Don'ts are appreciated as I am sure there are other folks on the forum considering going in the future and would like the information.

As time gets closer i am getting things finalized. Thanks to Mark, I have been able to verify that I do in fact have a Bike to Ride from HD in Rhein.... Finally! It's more expensive but they have unlimited miles vs 1500km, they will hold my suitcase, provide rain gear and a helmet if I so desire. I will be bringing my own helmet.

Found my Plane Ticket and even upgraded my seat to probably the best one available in the poor boy section for only $60 ( each Way )

I have found a Shuttle Service from the Airport to the Dealership for $40 that will get me there in 45 minutes.

I have a Bed N Breakfast APP on my phone so no matter which way I end up going, I can find a place to crash for about 1/2 the price of a Hotel Chain and will more than Likely be able to park the Bike in a locked / closed garage.

I have an education on German Alcohol ... :capwin:

Barry and I have Rooms In Pullman City for Monday thru Sunday now ( I think )

I have purchased a Becker 6.5" GPS and have updated the maps for all of Europe so if I decide to hit Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria or Wherever I am covered

As a Back up I have a wonderful set of waterproof maps that I will be bringing along

I have notified Verizon of my trip and my phone has / will be updated accordingly so I will have service and data whenever I need it ( you Don't wanna know how much that is costing LoL )

I have a GoPro , spare memory and batteries as well as all the chargers etc. have no clue how to use it but ...

Have Ac adapters so my stuff can plug into their sockets

And am pretty booked Work Wise so the time will fly by!

I plan on taking all of my old socks and underwear. That way once I have worn them they can be discarded ( Or sold to the highest bidder ) making room for important things like Mugs, T-Shirts, Steins and Leiderhosen. of course by the time I make it to Pullman City I will probably be down to my Chaps and Hello Kitty Thong but that's OK ... What better way to represent!!!

I see you started modeling your "hello kitty" thong but I think the "Felix the Cat" are just as fitting for the occasion
