Back to a 8.2l BigBlock

Post by 502wingman »

Finally brought the beauty home.

1976 Cadillac Eldorado Bicentennial. 500cui'/8.2l BB.

Only 200 were build when GM decided to eliminate convertibles from their lineup in April 76. This is number 195. Most of these vehicles disappeared as collector items in storage right after they were sold. So this one had only 691mls (!) on the clock when I first looked at it.

It is, feels and runs like a brand new vehicle. Perfect. We just love it.

Big ol' Caddy's are awesome. When I was 5 in 1960, we had a Heart Doctor that lived next door to us, that bought a Eldorado Biarritz just like this one, brand new. I can remember it was greenish, not this color. When I was 8 and 9, during the Summer, he would drop me off at our local Public Pool. To me, that car was an Aircraft Carrier on wheels !

Thanks guys for your comments :D

Yes, these old cars are amazing. They don't drive, they just hover or float down the road like an aircraft carrier.

Last weekend my son Frederick and I went for a ride and we had so much fun.

"Standard of the world" certainly was the perfect advertising
