OK , then how about an opinion on this from anyone that does run Metzler tires , which is preferred, the 880 or the newer 888 ?

Jack,

I have used the Metzeler 880,
and have been very satisfied with it.
But I have used the rear 140/90
mounted on the front.

Thanks Puff , I guess I'll stick with the 140 /90-18 880 Marathon on the front because it's well matched with my 260 -18 Metezler rear tire . Man , tires are getting expensive !

Jack,
Yes, they CAN be expensive,
but it is worth it to keep on riding ! :ridding:

I'm replacing my 880 with the same since it's been good.

I run the 888 on the SB with the Kewl Metal as well as the BB with the stock Front end. tire does well on both with no noise and seems to be wearing evenly on both.
The rear tire is another story. Brand new 1 month old tire started cracking around the edges. Took it to the Metzler rep during Bike week ans was told to pound salt. No warranty consideration and no explanation other than I obviously have too much horsepower and it is my fault, not the tire. It was replaced with an Avon.
Who says building a border wall won't work?!? The Chinese built one over 2000 years ago and they STILL don't have any Mexicans ...
