Canadian rider down

Josh and I found out around 5 our time today that a good friend of ours, Joe was in the Hospital.

He goes on the Forum by Canadian Joe and some of you may have met him.

He crashed his 2008 SS Boss Hoss and we have no details at all of how it happened. In fact Josh was the one to call his wife to see what happened and she did not even know of the accident yet and it had been an hour or maybe two..not a good way to hear.

What we do know as of a couple hours ago is that he has multiple fractured ribs, some fractured vertebrae and a fractured scapula. Waiting for consult from the trauma surgeon.

Please keep Joe and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

The things I posted above are all the injuries Joe sustained...still enough to deal with and he hopes to be out in a few days.

The items wrong with his 2008 SS bike are too numerous to list and he thinks it is a write off...we have not seen it..but he says he survived but the bike did not.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers...they all help

Tell him that we're all rooting for him, he has brothers and sisters all over the globe. He looks a tough strong guy so hopefully will repair fast.

He is tough and he is young...as you say will heal fast but when old he will feel it all again...

Hopefully we get to see the bike...

More than likely someone turned in front of him , pulled out in front of him , texting or he hit a deer or a Moose .
Heal well and fast and buy another Boss Hoss .

I was hoping that it was someone else's fault but unfortunately it is rider error. He was going to fast, caught a footpeg and did not make a corner and into the ditch he went.

This less than 40 mile stretch of highway...single lane each way has taken out so many riders in the 15 years I have lived here...way too many riders and some I know...some injured and some died..JOE IS LUCKY!!

Here is one pic of the bike in a compound tonight..Josh is picking it up and I will get more at the shop either Tuesday or Wednesday...it is a wrtie-off as Joe thought.

Sux seeing a scoot in that condition BUT happy the Rider will be OK. Does Canadian Insurance allow Buy Backs? If cheap enough, there are quite a few very useful parts ...

Yes they do Dennis..generally goes to Auction though...I watched and missed Darryl's when it went to Auction and I beleive the guy who bought it had no idea what it was..he called us shortly after to price a tank and rear fender...IT WAS WRITTEN OFF DUDE!! needs more than that..too bad he won't come forward as I would still be interested in it

Yep, one broken Boss, looks like the back is broken, but there's an engine, carb/EFI and trans left and probably a good few other parts. If you laid all the undamaged parts out then there must be a good profit in there post auction.

And yes, these are after all just things in the end, just glad Joe's alive and not maimed, hopefully we'll see him astride a V8 again (perhaps from Destination C)

I'm sure Barry will make him a deal on the SS bike he currently has in inventory.

He was after a LS3 as his next ride the last few years...see what happens..they are NOT cheap when brought to Canada is the biggest problem'

I told him to just get his motor done on that bike to more HP and he would be good..spend less than $5,000 and it would KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS!! that is not an option looking at the bike

YES...That is one of the coolest SS bikes I have sold, the blue one on the floor...see if he wants another V8

It is only on the floor because of the 502 the previous owner NEEDED to buy a month ago...lol

The back end is trashed. The front end "looks" straight and didn't destroy the fragile front fender..so maybe its usable..Maybe new rear frame? or possibly start of a trike project? Guy is real lucky to be alive after looking at the damage..And THAT is whats really important..Get well man.

From the front nothing looks straight about the forks or frame and the front fender is definitley fucked but you can't see that side of it in the pic.

Joe is one lucky sumbitch as there were lots of rocks in the ditch..the bike found most of them.

Here is a little tidbit that just grinds my gears. The towing company only had to travel 15 miles at the most...basically drag the bike out of the ditch and onto the flatdeck.

Bike sat in their compound for only 3 days before Josh picked it up and his wife paid a bill for over $2,000 Canadian...about $1,600 UDS...HOLY FUCK! Insurance will cover but that is a licence to print money...
