I think about buying an infrared thermometer to check each exhaust tube for it's temp to see if all cylinders are operating equal. Someting like this:

I've heard this would be an easy and fast way to locate a faulty spark plug or spark plug wire.
Has someone of you tried such a thermometer before? And what temp range do I want?
Is the above 1382F temp gun enough for the job?

I am sooo hot! :-)
Re: I am sooo hot! :-)
Olaf,
Nobody has ever tried this on a V8 bike. I think the right temp would be the high majority average measurement. Please buy it, try it, and share the results.

David,
thanks for the pointers. A friend of mine told me almost the same...not a good way to troubleshoot. I think I rather spend my (not existing..hahaha) money in another tool for the bike![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
Thanks again,
