Brembo Caliper bolt-on Alternative

I'm probably crossing a line here but I'm a rebel so its a risk you take when you send me stuff. Here is a serious bolt-on replacement to that wimpy 4 pot Brembo caliper. Ring/email Brian at BH NZ...he's selling them cheap... ...and dont tell him I sent you.

I understand that they are only being made for the Brembo's, Brian reckns the Wilwoods have performed well enough....the words he used were actually "piss off aussie I got better things to do than make you a set of wilwood replacements".

I think the Wilwood rear caliper should work much better than it does . I don't really know what it needs but it needs either a better grade of pads , different master cylinder or something . My rear brake on my Roadking works 100 % better than the Wilwood and it sure as hell doesn't look anywhere near as good as the Wilwood rear caliper . There's got to be something missing with this Wilwood set up but I don't know what . At first I though maybe it didn't work that great because of all the extra plumbing including the rear brake lock but I eliminated all of that and have one brake line running directly from the rear mater cylinder to the rear caliper with no bends , elbows or anything to restrict the flow of brake fluid and it still sucks .

I seem to recall several years ago you werent happy with your rear brake...from my experience if you get past the MC failures and sticking pistons and sticking floating bracket and bleeding problems and temperamental torque rod heim and dusty rims (plus a few other things), the rear Wilwood works great! I reckon if the front Wilwoods didnt sqeak so much the factory wouldnt have changed to Brembo. Bummer you have had to live with it for so long but there must be something else not on the above list thats wrong with yours cause I can lock up no problem even with a sticky mickey on the back.

Rob , I finally got my rear Wilwood brakes working great . Turns out all I needed was a stronger spring on the cotter pin between the two rear brake pads . They were very slightly dragging/rubbing the rotor causing glazing and probably some heat . Now with a stronger spring on the cotter pin holding the pads off the rear rotor the brakes work great .

I too never had any probs with the Wilwood rear brake at the 99 Boss Hoss. I was able to get the tire locked up at any speed even with the large car tire.

But I have seen Brian's new billet rear calipers at Andy's shop last weekend when we were there, and.....man, they look great and I'm pretty sure they will perform even better!! Good job, Brian!
