CRs First Ride since the High Side !

Post by Crazy Rick »

I went for the first ride yesterday since high siding in Daytona. This is a pic of the bike all fixed up.
Image

I only rode it less than five miles when this happened. :o

All of this would have been a great day for me, first ride back and all but the night before I changed the tranny fluid and found all this metal in the pan. (.)<
Image

Made some calls only to find out that Nesco raised the prices up about double what they were.. (.)<

So I rode it and did one last burnout - had to on the first ride or it wouldn't have been ME ;)

I'll baby this trans until it dies and then park it or replace it with something NOT POWERED BY A NESCO.

Iput the Radiator shroud back on today.....not sure if I like it on or off ???

Hey Rick... Good to see you back. Sorry to hear your transmission woes. Looks like BH liked pissing me off so much they decided to piss everyone else off too... I know where you can get a 2008 V8 Chopper for mid 20s.

Rick,

I hate to see the metal shavings!
I hope your tranny will hold through
bike nite next Thursday night at
Triple Play in Buford, Georgia!
I have never seen any metal shavings
in my current tranny so far(40,000+ miles).
I should arrive at Phyllis and Billy's place soon
after lunch on Thursday(May 20th).

Who's the guy in the funny looking helmet, ha ha? Yeah, I know..... (.)<

Bike looks good on the outside. Sorry to hear about the metal. SOSDD. Most important, good to see you back in the saddle.

Heard through the grapevine someone gave you a thumping on the other board for saying something about it. I guess the guys who have been lucky are in denial.

Damn, that helmet's going to ruin your reputation in spite of it being able to save your skull. Yeah, I know.... (.)<

Tom, you got me wondering here. Are we talking the one John A. just bought to flip or someone else's?

Thanks Tom, that's what I thought. You would probably know more than most what a nice bike that is.

I'm not 100% sure but I think there may be one more V8Chopper for sale in Oklahoma. Gary sold his original #2 (or #3) bike to a friend down in Naples who already had a chopper. He's always lusted for that red one of Gary's. In any case, he may be bringing both to Oklahoma and will put the "For Sale" sign on his '06 model. It's a nice bike and will have a too good to be true price on it because he bought it right. Anyone looking to get into a nice pre-owned V8Chopper affordably would probably do good in Miami next week with either of these bikes. See you there...

Rick -

Good to see you back in the saddle and "at it again"! Image The tranny fluid sure doesn't look good :( Maybe run it with fresh fluid a couple hundred miles and drop again to see what it looks like (how many miles since last service). Did you open the filter and see what was in it?
IF YOU TELL THE TRUTH YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMEMBER ANYTHING

Rick, glad to see you got the bike running again and took it for a ride, it looks great. The tranny issue is a bummer and if you don't buy a V8 chopper than maybe Tom and Adrian can fix yours for less than you think with all the updates. I just got to Miami and wrote about my trip on the other site, I hope to see you here soon. Dave
