Re: Holidays
Most of my friends are single like myself. And family is way over on the complete other side of the country for us (approx 6000 kms away). So, what us bachelors do at Christmas is have a turkey dinner at our shop (My buddy Wayne has an apartment built into our shop)… PLUS we also built a bar into ou...

I'd hate to see KaBoom eat up a fifth transmission! But that would be one wild ride at the track when you finally do!

Interesting series of 'splainin' John. From all musings and writings one cannot dispute much after digesting your blog entitled "I know you are, but what am I?" As for the target mark of the bell curve you speak of… I suspect that I'd fall short. You know the ol' "Aim for the curb, an...

Re: BH trans rumors
I suspect you are right Mikey. I'm still haunted with 'pickle-lugger' status. So a new MBH bike might not yet be in the cards. I love my Big Block muchly, but was bitten by the bug when I heard Stu's 606! He had some idle issues, but I suspect that can and has been rectified. I find that haunting so...

Re: jacking up the bike
At our shop, we have an old Autobody shop, converted to plumbing shop and bike building emporium. We have an overhead rail that goes kitty corner across our roof. I'm guessing they had an old style chain hoist set up back when it was an Autobody shop. I now have a Warn winch (120 VAC) that's good fo...

Re: HEI Tune Up Kit-Great Price
Then I guess I shouldn't be surprised me not knowing what it was. My BB doesn't have a vacuum advance. It's absence is fairly obvious. And I never grew up around V8's as a teen or adult until Boss Hoss. I was Harley through and through, and never had an interest in the old classic cars - because bik...

Re: BH trans rumors
I wish Mountain would stop putting $20,000.00 paint jobs in their 606's. Maybe they'd be affordable to a 'pickle lugger' like me. Plain black, NO fancy chrome… I'm sure the price would be reasonable then…. but I guess it's because I'm not their target market. Looks like I'll just simply have to buy ...

Re: Latest V8 project.
I wonder Dave, is this is meant by torque-steer? When I go from idle to a rev… it kicks to the right… but settles down what seems to be about 10 degrees of the compass that the torque catches up to the reciprocating mass and we can 'rock' the bike back and forth with 'blipping' the throttle. But eve...

Re: BH trans rumors
My transmission was rebuilt by the California boys, and has ran strong and clean since the 08 upgrades. It was suggested I run Dexron 6 transmission fluid, and I reliably do. Because of our shorter riding season, I change the fluid twice a year, but generally put 10,000 miles (Not Kilometers) every ...

Re: HEI Tune Up Kit-Great Price
That's a good price! I have all the component parts accept that cone looking thingy… (What IS that?), With the MSD kit that I purchased, it came with a 'digital computer board that replaced the standard 'banana shaped' ignition module. Heck it even had an adjustable rev limiter built into the 'Mothe...

John, did you have to farm out for a new drive belt? Or was the changes in your swing arm you've made, suited for the stock belt?

2nd gear as a direct drive… I wonder how that will translate to engine RPM's at 70 or 80 mph? At least with the goofy Nesco's over-drive, the RPM's on my 06' big block are about 2300 rpms doing 80.
Like others mentioned… I'll keep my finger on the pulse of this new intel!

Hi Robin, it's good to see that you've gotten your new trike into that dream machine you've wanted. Certainly unfortunate that you had those shipping issues and at a bad time. And in as few as three days, things escalated into an ugly scene, leaving behind bitter feelings. Full Stop. THAT's where it...

Re: Kewlmetal
Once the boys at Destination Cycle installed my Kewl Metal front end… I fabbed up the brackets for my Batwing fairing. it was surprisingly easy! AND the fairing is in the best possible position for wind deflection with NO buffeting from under or around the fairing. I can still see over top of the pl...
