Re: Hellboy wont quit

Are we talking about Robin? Oh, I thought he was pretty pumped at getting his trike in order, and I too was empathetic to his plight of shipping damage. I know that a few weren't so sympathetic after the level of complaints were aimed at people on the other site knew. It's understood that frustratio...

John, does it make a difference or improvement if they come with a negative buss? How are these units for weather seal?

Thanks!

Re: Need Ideas

Moose: The pic I'm sending is that of my fan relay, which is also the same one for the starter relay. The fan relay on my bike is zip tied to the wires up under the right side of the frame neck. You can see it easily enough. If you have to find your starter relay, it's under the right side panel, li...

Re: Asking for help on a radical modification.

Agreed… the 'wheels' or pivot points are going to have 'near frictionless bearings' pressed into the assembly. I have two throttle springs on the 'shut-er-down' side too. Trying to anticipate issues or the like. It's taking lots of design time to get it all correct. I'm not worried. :eye_crazy:

Re: Could've been UGLY!!

I had the same situation with my old Shovelhead. Only I was doing about 30, coming to a red light. Exact situation, I had no steering… so I leaned forward on the gas tank and grabbed both sides of the forks near the upper triple tree, and let the bike buck itself to a stall, and surprisingly enough,...

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e74/mcfinkerstein/throttlegear_zps6ff52c25.jpg Some of you with techie minds might have a general idea what I've drawn here… of course it's not to scale, and all of this is potentially removable in five minutes once it's built and in place. This is for no practical...

Re: Asking for help on a radical modification.

That's the angle I was thinking Barry. Limited number of hobby shops here in Lloyd. but it does give me ideas. I found a #25 stainless chain and sprocket set. That will suit the chain drive portion… and I may simply purchase a Mitre gear set (1:1 ratio) at 90 deg. and have them machined to where I n...

Re: Asking for help on a radical modification.

Indeed Bill, Kinda that wacky Mad Max look I lean towards. I have a shop drawing of what I intend to do… but it's at my shop… I'll bring the drawing home, scan it and post what I have in mind. I spoke to a machinist buddy who has a good idea of what I need to do… both with ratios, and format. I just...

Pretty much the same here in Middle Canada. We are considering this a fairly mild winter though… but as you say… It can bugger off anytime now!!! :banghead:

Asking for help on a radical modification.

Hey guys; I'm building a radical design for a throttle assembly, of which will require me to have what I believe is a 1:1 bevel gear ratio, and matching sprockets (small in design)… The throttle will be chain driven with the larger bevel gear mounted to the twist grip on the throttle handle. I need ...

Well Bill, I'm of an old school of thought… Education is hard to attain, but easy to carry around. Not the case with the gal hosting this video… tough to pack those puppies around without experiencing some sort of back pain. Maybe if she is your sponsor, you could lend her a hand, or a couple of han...

A-A-AND…. Bryan's bike was at an Edmonton Bike show in a display… It alerted me that a V8 bike actually existed… an old dream from 30 years previous… and what shocked seven shades of shite out of me was the dealer was only about 4 hours drive from where I lived! :canada:

Re: BSS HOSS TACH

My tach and odometer acted up a few times. It's an '06 white faced Autometer. There were about three times when it did what your's did Dave. But interestingly enough, the milage on the Odometer was wrong. It was set to 'trip meter' at the time, and the 200 plus miles I put on went back to an older m...

Every country should heed those words! Each country he listed that has 'Freedom'… needs to listen, then act. Canada ranks among them! It's important for each country to sort out what we need to change on their own merit… but I say in true solidarity…. WE ALL CAN DO IT!!! :usa: :germany: :canada: :sw...

A fun set of questions Dave: #1: What year and how long have you owned them? I only HAVE and always WILL just own one bike at a time. With me, motorcycling is not a 'mood swing' of which bike I feel like riding today. I invest all time, funds available, and energies on one single bike. I make sure i...

Got medical biz late Friday… won't be in Calg. for the Bike Show this weekend.

Back to the rad question. If there is no change in fluid flow… why would Boss Hoss or the Rad manufacturer purposely dent the larger elbow on the top left side of our rads?

Speaking of dented inlet radiator tube….

At some point in time I'll have to get a new rad, the old one is beat up from our wacky Canadian roads. And I've had a couple of leaks repaired because of the 'sawing' effect of those ridiculous Zip ties that used to hold my fan onto the Rad. Does anyone know the reason for the big dent in the top b...

I'm thinking that Ford always had a gem with Mustangs. Not unlike the Corvette in the bow-tie world. This is a beautiful car. I imagine I'll see over 50 of them in my oil boom city in the first month of production!

Re: This seem dangerous to you?

I have a potential theory on design here. My guess is, that the suspension cable of the saw has enough insulating qualities to it, that it would render no problems if the line itself made brief contact with the power lines. Although the saw blades 'seem' metal… is it possible that they too are a com...

Like most new designs, it'll have to grow on ya, if you don't love it off the hop. I'm guessing it will be six months or so before we see any of these units on the road. And like any new and novel idea… they will suddenly make up 1/3 of the vehicles on the road. Not unlike that new Jeep Unlimited 4 ...

Re: Goldwing tow truck

A novel idea in those few circumstances where a normal tow truck could not access. I am haunted with a few engineering questions:… What about braking? (I suspect, you meet the nicest people on a Honda, but can the Honda's brakes handle that kind of load?) Clutches. I'm of belief that most motorcycle...
