Re: Balancing beads

Well when I dismounted the problem tire to mount the new warranty tire guess what I found , a full unopened 3oz bag of balancing beads . The asshole that originally mounted the tire insisted that he opened the bag and dumped the beads in the tire was full of shit . I went back and read the riot act ...

Re: Balancing beads

I Jack up the rear end and let the rear tire spin , it's out of round at least 1/2" . Bought it new on Ebay so I'm probably screwed but regardless it needs to be replaced . Guess I'd better go to Tire rack . Hopefully have better luck . Fuck !!

Balancing beads

I just installed a new 260-18 Metzler rear tire and instructed the tire mounting guy to dump in 3oz plastiic bag of beads which I provided . When I picked up the newly mounted tire I asked if he put the beads in and he said he did . Mounted the wheel and went for a ride and noticed when slowing down...

Re: ST80 solenoid

I've heard from a reliable source that if you run a jumper wire from one large terminal to the other on the ST80 it wil work in an emergency. Never tried it but I aways carry a made up jumper wire just in case . I also carry a spare ST 80 but the jumper wire wold get you back running quicker if on ...

Re: FIRE !!

I know a guy that did the same thing . He was going to install a switch or a guage or something and he drilled thru the center of the tanks as you did except his tanks were low on gas . However he never noticed anything until at a gas station he filled the tanKS and smelled gas and found the problem...

Re: Anti freeze

Jack, I don't live in Florida, but I would keep running anti-freeze year around because it is an anti-corrosive protection for your engine block and cylinder heads. Plus it will keep your engine running just a tad bit cooler than just plain water. That's where the anti-boil protection comes into pl...

All I can say I don't see how I could get any quicker response or better ecceleration than I have now with my Stage ll Quadrajet . Thing is instant . Carburetor Mike works magic with these things! Mine is a Stage II as well. Can I ask what the price and turnaround time was for his Stage 2 mod? I've...

Re: Swapped 1157 Running Lights for LED's

I removed the amber GM 1157 dual-pole running lights/turn signals from my Boss Hoss' Harley-Davidson style bullet housings and replaced them with a set of LED's that function as amber turn signals with "white" halo running lights around the signals. They just sat there and looked at me al...

Re: Resolved: No Turn Signals

I had almost the exact same problem this summer. Very intermittent failures on my brake light, turn signals, and headlights. I thought I finally fixed it and rode for 100 miles with the tank off (stopping every 20 miles for fuel lol). Worked flawlessly. Threw the tank on and the first ride everythi...

Re: Starter

Jack, with the key off try jumping the 2 big terminals on the starter. This will tell you if your starter is working right. What about the starter relay??? Sometimes those things just take a crap and don't work. The old site has some good info on them, IMHO. Paul H My Powermaster starter has two te...
