Just find where it connects to the linkage, disconnect
it and replace with a tie wrap. that should hold your
choke open till the cows come home.

I haven't really looked at it yet but I know it's not rocket science.

Re: Choke linkage

Hi Jack, I have a Holley 750 which used to have a PITA electronic choke which I removed and with the tank off I took the air filter off and watched where the external linkage sat as I opened the butterfly then zipped it to a nearby protruding screwhead, it's been great since. A couple of good throt...

I guess the best thing to do would be to remove the choke butterfly .

Choke linkage

Does anyone have a picture of how to zip tie the choke linkage off so it's inoperable on a 1901 Edelbrock. I know it's simple but I forgot how they did it . Don't need no stinken choke here in Fort Myers Florida.

Thanks , Jack

Re: Oil pan

I don't know the frame design on the trike but if the front half is the same as the bikes you have a crossmember just below the pan that does not allow the pan to be dropped. You either split the frame and remove the engine out the back etc. or cut the crossmember, drop the pan easily then when fin...

Re: Ride on tire sealer/balancer

I tried that stuff once and wouldn't use it again. Sounds good but when I unmounted the tire for replacement the stuff inside was a slimy wet mess that didn't look like it would ever stop a puncture. I wouldn't trust it to work. I'll stick with lead weights for balancing. I agree that some products...

Re: Ride on tire sealer/balancer

OK , since there's no response I'll tel you my experience . I bought a new rear Metezler 260 -18 and the bike shop that mounted the rear tire swore by this Ride on sealer/ balancer so I decided why not and had them put the product in my rear tire . So far it works great as a balancer but the sealer ...

Re: Metzler front tires

Jack, I have used the Metzeler 880, and have been very satisfied with it. But I have used the rear 140/90 mounted on the front. Thanks Puff , I guess I'll stick with the 140 /90-18 880 Marathon on the front because it's well matched with my 260 -18 Metezler rear tire . Man , tires are getting expen...

With my cooler set up it takes a long long time for my trans temp to reach 150 , in fact it very seldom ever gets up to 150 unless it's a very hot day and even then about 160 is tops .

Yep, that's another annoyance - others calling my Hoss a Hogg! I keep telling them it's NOT a Harley. :whack: I like the name Boss Hog a hell of a lot better than Hoss . It's not a horse , it's a Hog like Monte wanted , a Boss Hog as compared to a Harley Hog . When I think of Hoss I think of Hoss C...

Re: Carb tune.

Simple thing but I seen it where riders just don't go wide open quick enough with the wrist. Probably why in the past riders have experimented with quick turn throttles or relocated the throttle cable on the carb arm. I forgot to mention I have a 1/4 turn quick turn throttle which makes it real fas...

Re: Carb tune.

I've heard this from others that they can't light up their rear tire on their ZZ4 bikes . I have no problem at all with my 2000 ZZ4 with hot cam , 1.6 roller rockers and 750 Edelbrock with the Carburetor Mikes stage II mods . I can easily lite up my rear tire at 15 - 20 MPH .

Re: Harley's

I've built several quick Harley engines over the years but it's not cheap to get over 100 HP out of the older engines . The last one I built was 96 in Evo S&S stroker that put out right around 100 HP and cost me about $6000.00 and I did all the work ,of course I used the best of everything .

Re: Just a question ?

Well mines a 2000 with a 2002 tank that I believe holds 8.5 gallons . I have a Pingel reserve petcock and when it runs out and I have to go on reserve it only takes 6.5 gallons which should mean I have 2 gallons reserve . However leaning on the kickstand I don't think I can get a total of 8.5 gallon...

I have not but, if they work as advertised I would definitely try one. And the price is good if my dollars to euros is right. haha I have an 01 and I've had to take my sender out and get the magnet unstuck a couple of times... That’s what. I thought. Just wondered if anyone has seen them in the US....

Re: Drive belt tension.

I quit doing burnouts a couple of years ago but I still like quick acceleration, I've been running about 350 ft lbs of tension on my belt with no slippage . Unless your running a BB I don't think 500 ft lbs is necessary and it's alot easier on your transmission output shaft bearing.
