Re: Spark Plugs, everything you should know
Over the years I've built a few hopped up Harley engines and got pretty good at reading spark plugs and indexing plugs . There really is a science to perfect firing plugs . Not intending to hijack the thread but drawing off your mention of hopped-up Harley's, I was AMAZED to see NHRA Top Fuel Harel...

Re: V8's in The Smokies 2018
Sounds like the time I rode up mt. Washington here in NY state . Only 5000 feet but a little intimidating. Was 80 degrees at the bottom and about 32 degrees at the top .

I've had good luck with the beads also but I haven't been over 100 MPH since I've been using them . At normal highway speeds however I don't feel any vibration or shimmy or bounce , smooth as silk .

I don't know what your problem is but you do know that GM recommends either 5w 30 or 10w 30 weight oil in their 350 engines . .

I cut one out off 1/2" alum plate , drilled the mounting holes in it and milled fins . Never has leaked . Used the original 1/4" plate to make other things .

Re: Nesco Sump Plate.
Good fix I guess but what you really need is a thicker plate because obviously yours is warped .rocketsteve wrote:Another simple fix completed, no more oil seeping from the sump plate.
This bike just gets better... and so nicely tuned now that she hardly moves when ticking over on the side stand.

Re: Vapor lock
I’ve been saying it for 15+ years... my 502 vapor locks at Daytona Bike Week unless I use a small amount of octane booster. Period. In Virginia, no problem. Pennsylvania, Maryland, North & South Carolina, no problem. Sturgis & points in between, no problem. Daytona —> vapor lock. When I’ve ...

I have my liquid filled fuel pressure gage plummed and mounted behind the right valve cover and after doing some research people are saying that if a liquid filled fuel pressure gage is mounted too close to a heat source it will not be accurate and to use a non liquid filled fuel pressure gage inste...

Re: Vapor lock
I run a Holley Red mounted on the left side off the side od the battery box . It normally shows about 5 to 7 lbs. fuel pressure until it gets hot while setting in hot traffic and I can watch the fuel pressure gradually drop as low as 1 to 2 lbs . When it gets to 0 of course it stalls . This never ha...

Re: Vapor lock
On my first SB, a 1999 model, I insulated all of the fuel lines. Also, the fuel filter was on the suction side of the fuel pump. So with a little bit of differential pressure across the filter and a hot day equaled vapor lock. After insulating the fuel lines, I had no problems with it. So your sayi...

Vapor lock
Has anyone come up with a full proof way of preventing vapor lock ? I thought I had it licked but yesterday setting In 81 degree Daytona traffic I had what seemed to be vapor lock . Finally got the bike restarted but ran like shit until I let it set for a couple of hours to cool down .
Bad gas
Been here in Daytona for a week so far and the other day I took a chance on buying gas for my bike at a mom and pops 7-11 Quickstop on A1A near Dunlawton bridge . Wound up with a tank full of shit gas and bike started running like a piece of shit . So I had to buy a gas can , a length of 3/8" h...

Personally I've never known a teacher that I thought was badass enough to defend my kids . They would have to be brainwashed into pulling the trigger no matter how much actual training and practicing they have . However I would have no problem with a combat vet protecting my kids though .

The problem I see with any law abiding citizen no matter how well they are trained and no matter how good a shot they are when the time comes and the shit hits the fan are they going to have the willpower and the guts to shoot the gunman .
