Issue resolved: it was a cracked rubber cap on an unused vacuum port on the front of the carburetor. I had a spare cap in a rebuild kit.

Are there any parts or tips that you can recommend, such as blocks/harnesses/printed wire sets that state the function of the wire (not a gauge legend), like on the factory wires?
