Thread size
Hi all, happy new year. Quick question. I’ve got hold of a replacement tank for a 96 bike. I’m hoping to modify it for EFI. Can anyone tell me the thread size for the fittings for the cross over pipe. I don’t want to take them out of my old tank until I’m ready. My guess is they are NPT but what siz...

Re: Harmonic balancer cap siezed
Chevy balancers are a press fit on the crankshaft. get a suitable puller and pull it off. No real need to remove the SHC to pull the balancer but it will have to come out to install the balancer unless you pound it back on which is SOP for most backyard mechanics Are the three holes on the spokes t...

Arnott Air ride
Has anyone had a very slow leak on their air ride system. 7-10 psi over 24 hours. I’ve sprayed everything with bubble water but can’t find anything . Has anyone had the a similar issue ?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Fan relay
Relays can go bad. They can click when powered up but the contacts inside can be bad. Try a new relay

Re: Starter motor not disengaging.
I’d guess the start switch is faulty. Pull the solenoid wire off the solenoid and make sure the power doesn’t continue when you release the starter.

Re: F.A.S.T. EFI for older bikes and trikes
Just been reading back through all this information. Can’t believe this post is four years old. I didn’t even think I’d had the trike that long !! Has there been any issues with this system now it’s getting on a bit. I’ve seen on YouTube F.A.S.T 2 is available but some have had problems. Looks like ...

Am I paranoid?
Hi all, after having a fire last year from a fuel leak I’ve become very paranoid about smelling gas, fuel. I know the reserve tank vents to atmosphere and that I have a large carb pumping fuel straight in. When the weather is warm or the engine is hot I sometimes smell fuel. Mainly from the front of...

Re: Fuel pump
Thanks puff. I have fitted a regulator now and all seems well.
Re: Fuel pump
Could be the Carter P4070. I had this one in my 502 bike for many years and it was perfect. And yes, I would think that 6psi is much better than 9.5psi Thanks, I took the pump off and found the labe it’s 152-875.Think that’s an old number as summet or Jets don’t list it now so can’t find what press...
Fuel pump
Hi all. What is this fuel pump. I can’t find any information or image of it on the net. This may be all my carburettor issues. I just checked the output pressure at 9.5 psi.
I believe the 1901 only needs 6 psi max ?
Thanks

Kick down
Hi all, probably another daft question but if I don’t know I don’t know. My kick down cable is frayed and sticking. I’ve been trying to identify the cable as there seems to be different ones for the TH350 transmission. I’ve looked on a couple of hot rod forums and they say for a light vehicle it’s n...

Carb rebuild, update
So enough is enough.Having cleaned and rebuilt the carb and still not happy, it’s time to change. Bill has recommended quickfuel HR 650 and happy to go with that. After reading the information seems that would still need tweaking. So my question is, what exactly did people change their 1901 for. Whe...

It makes all 4 open at the same time. It will really wake your trike up. You’ll thank me later.[/quote] Ha, thanks for the advice Bill, I’ll look into that. Unfortunately it’s cost. I’m poor. The carb I have is problematic but I think it’s more down to fuel what with all the shit they put ...

Re: Carb rebuild.
That's a 1901 , too bad you can't send it to Carb Mike for the stage II rebuild/ modifications. It will feel like you gained 50 hp . ' Thanks, been in touch with Edlebrock and they confirmed it. I wasn’t sure because I have the 1920 rebuild kit and the base gasket was different to mine. They said t...

Carb rebuild.
Hi all. Hoping there are people all over carbs and can advise. My carb is leaking. I’ve had a hydro lock a couple of times and fuel sitting on top of the manifold. I’ve bought a rebuild kit for 1901 carb. Problem is my carb doesn’t look like any of the edelbrocks I’ve seen on you tube. Can someone c...

Re: HT leads
:goodidea: In your case, it would best to buy a universal set that you can cut to your specific application. Some come with a crimping tool but they are usually not the best. I would buy/rent the proper tool or have a shop do the actual crimping for the best outcome. We call them spark plug wires. T...
