Re: New Topic - Old Subject...Sabertooth

Hey boy genius! Im still waiting for the "Fong-o Matic" transmission. You said it was in development. Wood gears made by your Amish associates. Hows that going? Im in for 1 but it has to fit a Ford.

Re: You know you own a V8 bike when...

My favorite is, "What do you do if it falls over?" I tell them that I just leave it there and go buy another one[/quote] Ha ha!! Thats pretty funny. Along with what others have experienced, I had a car pull right next to me at highway speed. Some foxy young girl was hanging out the window ...

Krude Customs

Anyone hear of this manufacturer? Not exactly top of the line but I thought this trike looked kind of neat. Id put wider fenders on it. Overall I thought the lines are good. I like the keg gas tank! Cheap too!

Electric heated gloves

All I can say is…..WOW! I finally bought a pair of heated gloves from a local Harley dealer. Not the least expensive but I could have spent more (or less) online. These gloves are duel function, they will work with lithium batteries and a charger (If you buy them) or with the bikes electrical system...

Lets face it, none of us know for sure what really happened. Its lucky the guy didn't get killed. (or worse, like he and others die) These monster bikes need to be handled with a healthy dose of respect. Oh yeah, HOLY SHIT SONNY!!! :yikes: Its a real shame that sweet looking ride is totaled. Harris

Re: Electric water pump problem

I figured Id giving an update, as perhaps this will help someone else someday. Been "milking" the water pump thing and keeping my Wildcat local for the last 200-300 miles. Ive been watching the temp gauge every 15 or 20 seconds, which makes the riding kind of a pain. Well, went out on Sund...

Re: Electric water pump problem

Grand Canard, there is no mechanical thermostat like a car has. Coolant is pumped constantly through the radiator as long as the ignition is on. There is a thermostat which controls the electric fan. The "pitch" change with the water pump is not my imagination, it definitely happened. I d...

Re: Floating rotor question

I believe there are 2 main benefits. 1 is heat dissipation. Because the inner and outer portion of the disc are separate pieces that are "captured" into position (by a sort of rivet) heat doesn't transfer as well so heat isn't transferred to the hub / bearings. The other benefit is the &qu...

Electric water pump problem

Im not sure if Im being overly observant or if theres a problem. I noticed when I turn the ignition on the electric water pump doesn't sound the same. It almost sounds likes its "laboring" before it gets up to speed. We went for a ride anyway. I was checking the water temp every few minuet...

All it is is the site for the caliper and rotor. I saw no discussion or explanation on clearances / wear. Im sticking to my guns on this one. Onc...

Re: Floating rotor question

Sorry, I don't like it at all. Way too much play. The rotor may not receive a side load during braking but if theres that much side play how much movement can there be where the rotor disc mates with the hub? Are you certain during hard braking that the parts can't / won't go their separate ways? Th...

Re: Off Topic - Just a girl exercising her aircraft - WOW

A Pitts S2B?????? Uh……..YIKES!! The Pitts is still considered by many to be the most aerobatic aircraft in the world. Definitely 1 of my favorites. I only have around 5 hrs stick time with a Piper Archer 2. Nothing fancy, but what a thrill! The majority of my piloting experience is with model aviati...

Re: Off Topic - Just a girl exercising her aircraft - WOW

Im an aviation enthusiast and really appreciate the video. I got a thrill as she had to use both hands and arms while doing the radical maneuvers. The counterforce on the stick gets real noticeable during those high G spins. You can tell she's into it!! :ten: Thanks for posting this awesome video. H...

Avon vs. Metzler

Im not sure If I should be disappointed or not. I put 4800 miles on a brand new Avon and its worn out. :frustrated: Its a 300 on the rear and I don't do burnouts. WTF?? Is this normal?? I talked to a mechanic at a local bike shop I buy stuff from. He recommended a Metzler. he said the rubber is a li...
