Re: Boss Hoss patch

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e74/mcfinkerstein/IMG_0669_zps8637ea7d.jpg What I did Gordon, is take a drawing to a shop that embroiders jackets, shirts, hats… etc. I took the design that my buddy and I came up with as a tank logo, and decided to make a jacket sized patch, and smaller renderings...

Re: Brakes

I had a similar problem when I replaced my whole rear wheel brake assembly, John. I switched over to the automotive style of rear brake (effectively replacing a well worn out Brembo set up). And also now have to replace the front rotors, as they too are badly worn. (I'm told that putting on lots of ...

Re: The sun's out in England!

ZFU14S 14" 2785 fCFM Zirgo Ultra High Performance Radiator Cooling Fan. I paid $184.00 Canadian, including shipping from the U.S. The only potential down side is… the new fan only has four mounting points… where the stock unit had six. But I have the threaded rod set up that Adrian mentioned on...

Re: The sun's out in England!

As the result of boiling my rad completely dry because I thought the switch was on. Oops :hmmmm: So, as the result, I disabled that 'off' switch, because I don't care if people hear the fan when I show up to bars or fuel stops. The new 'S' curved fan I have now puts out 1000 more CFM than stock, and...

Re: Big Block - Rear Suspension Alternatives

I just sent my shocks to Aldan, and they put on 450 lb springs at no cost to me, other than freight.

Once I wound them up to where they no longer bottom out… it's been a sweet ride since then!

Coffee time? Just for fun….

The pic below shows just how boring it can be at our shop when it's pouring rain outside. Not, just the beer (which we imbibed several), but what to do with the plain black coffee cup I usually use at the shop. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e74/mcfinkerstein/coffeecup2_zps5f1d0144.jpg The next ...

Re: Front fork seals question…. again….

Ah…. that is the video I was looking for. It sounds like Tim's voice. I'll tackle that first, before I get all excited about yanking the front end apart. As mentioned: The fork seals are the originals from spring of 2006. I've got 80,000 miles on the bike approx. The Kewl Metal kit consists of the r...

Front fork seals question…. again….

I recently discovered that my fork seals might be leaking. I'll check that 'O' ring seal below the front fender mounts first. But both appear to have oil around the top plungers of the seals, and look like they might be weeping for a little while, because of the misty oil on the upper and lower legs...

Re: Let's talk drag bars

I can 'handle' the beach bars… but the wrist alignment is wrong. my hands turn outward, and not in straight alignment with the wrist. I find the same problem with the hundreds of stock and custom handlebars for Harleys and other bikes. Not a fan at all with drag bars, but to each his own. I plan on ...

Mad Max throttle assembly.

The pic below is the mock up of the throttle assembly, the gear that meshes with the throttle grip will be dropped in to proper alignment once the silicon holding the rubber grip sets up. I used a Harley, aluminum twist grip, and lathe machined it and the vertical gear which was treated with a chem...

Electrical upgrade

The pic below is a view of the new Bluesea w/negative buss fuse box many have installed on their bikes or trikes. Re: Relays SPDT to SPST

As you probably know with what you've presented so far… The diode between 85 and +86 isn't your concern as that's only the coil that engages the relay. 30 is the common terminal, And 87 and 87a are the two normally Open sets of contacts. You likely already know this… but with the way you've worded t...

And to add to the analogy… I DID go onto one particular roof top unit that had two brand new re...

Re: NESCO LEAK

I can be ranked among the 'Can't leave well enough alone' crowd. What leads me to many of the modifications most do on here is the high miles I put on the bike. The times I had to trailer it home because I didn't have the tools to fix it up on the side of the road. So, I've modified and changed many...

Thanks Moose, the diagram is similar to mine that came with my manual. The only wires on my '06 manual that doesn't show, is the one where the purple wire on the Tach, ends in the air with a female spade connector plug, but does not continue in any of my other six pages of wiring diagrams, to the ac...

Tachometer question, electrical help...

I find myself attempting to take a page out of CLF's book when it comes to rewiring. I'm replacing all of the common light blue sta-kon connectors, with Pico water tight plug sets, and swapping out the Bussman fuse box with a Blue Sea unit. During part of this wire sorting horror, I discovered a pot...

Re: Another Project Done Today

What everyone said about loosing a child, can really only be known what that might be like, if that occurs to a parent. My Dad had that experience when we lost my Brother a few years before my Dad passed on. It looked to me like a burden that very few parents carry. If nothing else, I was witness to...

Indeed John, that one of the most bestest things is the Blues played on guitar… 'ceptin' the blues played on a cigar box guitar!

And then you gone done MADE yet another example of one fine instrument of that time!

Nice!!
