Re: US GPS
Indeed yes: Basecamp is the Ford Pinto of mapping software. And thanks for that link. I am gonna look for an older English version, appreciated.
Re: Wanted.
Good luck Steve, the 'right' one is always worth waiting for (and it's always the last one we find )
Re: US GPS
Thanks Wingman. I was able to update the map to the latest that works with the 550, the problem was that the original supplier of the earlier-Zumo-era maps no longer works with Garmin at all... or the other way around as it may be.
US GPS
RIP my faithful Zumo 550... & Hail (moderately but not fulsomely) the Zumo 595LM. A brief update after I retired my US-focused Zumo 550 after 38,000 miles and many years on four continents. On the plus side; it was very reliable and very bike-oriented and definitely weather-proof (unscathed in s...
Re: Wanted.
Hey Steve I have a 1998 single-speed shark-mouth artwork bagger auto in California US, and a 2006 350 2-speed custom-painted 'Kiwi Beauty' bagger in Wanganui NZ, and I should probably sell at least one of them as I ride my 2x 502s (in Cali and NZ) preferentially. Let me know if you are interested. I...

Re: Boss Hoss Fuel Injection Issues resolved
The EFI unit off the newer 502's will fit on what you have the older style. You can put fuel injection on any motor you want. There should not be a problem to do this at all. The engines are all the same. Just need an ECM and a fuel injection system. New fuel pump and some plumbing. Thanks for the ...

I (almost) did. Bought my first 502 online, rode 35 miles, trucked it to LA while I went back to work, then came back and rode her LA-Sturgis+vicinity-LA. Yay!!

Re: Boss Hoss Fuel Injection Issues resolved
What do you mean it wont fit? That's what they have been using for years on the LS engines. On the old style frames its easier to modify the frame than it is to screw with a new EFI. Talk about being more cost effective as well. As far as I know, being a mechanical rank amateur, there's not been a ...

As many others have said; I'll start believing there is a carbon footprint problem when the people who keep telling me there is a carbon footprint problem, themselves change their behavior showing they believe their own bullshit. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-2916539/World-Ec...

Pickup with V8-capable bike lift for sale
Hello all An acquaintance (no more than that) told me last week there was a Chevy pickup with a ?Rampage bike lift for sale (hopefully it could load a V8 bike) in Ormond Beach FL - he heard it in a bar*. *Yeah, I know. OTOH, if it's true, I'd be interested. I gotta a US road trip with The Bride plan...

I seem to remember that the BH factory bought all the pieces needed to build the Nesco from Nesco and had it sent to Tim at Boss Hoss Concepts for them to do the complete build of the Nesco, from scratch??? As others have said, kudos to Ricky and his partners for stepping up and trying to improve the Boss Hoss product; and there have already been spin-off benefits. I wish it could have worked out but as they say, wish in one hand, s**t in the other, see which fills up first... As long as there are spar...

FWIW - I agree with the above 'brand ambassador' Gordon. That's what we (the people I know) want to be: truthful brand ambassadors. We want to keep our existing rides - whether bikes or trikes - going long and strong. We want to invite and make welcome new people (owners / riders) into the V8 bike f...

Re: Fi for a 502 BB
I hope it's OK for me to chime in here. I am the happy owner of the 502 that Brian and Gabe and crew are going to work their magic on. Don from Cali BH took 'Miss C' (seen here outside Brian's shop) up to Lake Havasu and Brian's shop and I drove up from Phoenix to say hello. The shop has so many ama...

Re: Rain umbrella for my air intake.
I've ridden V2 and V8 bikes in heavy rain. On my older BH I was able to just keep going as the intake was well shielded by the Mountain tank intake; the V2s would bog down in tropical downpours as you described though, until I 'borrowed' stockings from the Bride and stretched two thicknesses thereof...

Re: UPGRADING CURRENT LS ECM SYSTEM
Thanks Jack. But given my level of mechanical inexpertise & since it requires something other than anesthesia, incision, repaid, suturing... I think I'll go with the EFI experts at Havasu.
